Is it necessary to order the long sheets? I just received a order package in the mail from this company saying that the students won't be able to use the regular bed sheets in the dorms. Did anyone else get this?

I got it. I believe that USC has a company officially that will send us information on this. I don't believe that the mailing we just got if from that company.

Yea, I got that mailing too. is it www.campuslinens.com for that company? But I also got a second mailing about the linen purchase from USC (yea, with the official USC letter head). and the "official" one seems to be better (cheaper and you can pick up the linens at campus until you arrive on august 17).

It's not necessary at all to buy the sheets from that company, although you will need extra long twin sheets, which they sell anywhere they sell sheets. I bought mine at Foleys for my freshman year, (that's the same as Robinson's May out west) and they fit fine.

I have gotten one with the USC letterhead (it has the official USC comforter and Fleece sold in it), but haven't gotten one from a private company.

Is it worth getting sheets from this (these) company(ies)? Or is the regular department store more worth it?

I got the one with the USC letterhead today. It's the one with the web address www.rhl.org/sca right? How are the comforters and other bed items? Comfortable and good quality and worth the price?

odd that we would receive these things before we get our housing contract

i think it's a rip off, we should all go to walmart and target. SAVES MONEY

most definitely

Do you think everything offered in the brochure is a rip off or just some of the items? It seems very convenient that we don't have to look around a lot for extra long comforters and sheets and such. I haven't shopped yet, but how easy/hard is it to find these extra long items?

waste of money. extra longs are common to find, almost every college and boarding school in the country has extra long beds. It's simple supply and demand. Go with guesswho to Target.

My parents are ordering only the basic bedding stuff (sheets, comforter, pillow, and blanket) only since we don't have to worry about hauling that stuff on a 5 hr. plane ride or looking at stores in LA at the last minute. Those items would be waiting at USC when I get there in August.

Other essentials (like towel, laundry hamper) I will haul those in my suitcase. Everything else on that website is a rip-off to me. (Egg-crate mattress pad? Please, give me a break)

All right, thanks for the information. I live 45 minutes from USC, so it won't be too much of a problem bringing along stuff from the store.

The prices seem reasonable. What about the "Official USC Comforter"?

The prices seem okay, but at the store I'll probably add up the prices of items bought separately and compare it to the value packs. The question that still needs to be answered is about the quality of the items. And yeah, can't forget that there's a guarantee of satisfaction on the items until we graduate. Pretty nifty should we choose to buy from the brochure.

does anyone know how to send the linens to campus when buying them online (from that company)?

i think u have to send the linens by yourself through UPS or other carriers if you buy from other company. the USC official letter head company has an option of sending the linens to the campus and you can pick them up on moving in day.

lobsta, I too was confused that there was no option for "shipping to campus" when ordering online, so I just sent in the paper version by snail mail instead. Better safe than sorry.

SO I went to target and to get eerything but the Comfoter, Fleece Throw, Hamper, and Mattrass eggfoam pad. It is roughly 150

Would you say that you got a good deal at the store? Looks like you didn't get one of the most important things, the comforter.
