Yes, I know these things are annoying and arent ever perfect, but what do you think are my chances of getting in?

ECs:

3 years playing clarinet my schools band.
High School Honor Society in the scholarship and leadership sections.

Other:
I work one job.
I volunteer with special-needs kids in my free time, about 60+ hours so far.
Im planning on taking 2 AP classes at Northwesterns Center for Talent Development this summer.
Im planning on taking Math II and US History for my subject tests.

I don’t particularly like your chances at the moment. Your ACT score is below average and your unweighted GPA is considerably low for Wash U. Also, most people will have more than 60 hours of community service and stronger extracurriculars.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Ravnzcroft. I’ve seen one or two people with lower stats and high interest get in, but I’ve seen a lot more denied.

Admissions standards are now what they were at ivies a few years ago- the admit rate is down to 15%. My co-valedictorian (there are 900 in our class) was waitlisted with a 34 on her ACT and countless impressive extracurriculars and accolades. I’ve got to agree with the above in that it’s not looking so good for you right now.

I would say go for it! I was recently accpeted for the class of 2015 with the same ACT composite and way less volunteer hours. Honestly, I think the main reason I got in was because I showed a lot of interest, so if you really want to get it, you should start contacting WashU.

A 32 isn;t bad, but if you get beloew a 34-36, you had better have outstanding EC’s. And, I don’t really think yours stand out.
