In the fall of 2009, I will have two in college. Next winter, will I be filling out a single FAFSA covering both children, or will I fill out a FAFSA for each student?

Thanks in advance!

You will fill out 2 FAFSAs - one for each child. Each child will need their own PIN for their own FAFSA. You use your own PIN on each of their FAFSAs.

When you fill out the number in college you will put 2 and the part of the EFC caused by parent income/assets will be divided equally between the children reducing their EFC. Any portion of the EFC caused by the students own assets/ income will stay the same.

I think there is a way of doing one FAFSA then starting the 2nd and transferring the data so you do not have to reenter it. We did not do that as our son did not decide to return to school until months after we had completed our daughter's FAFSA. (or i may be imagining that you can do that!).

If you have a son/daughter going at least part time to grad school, can you put in that child?
