When I applied to A&M, I applied as an aero student. If I get accepted, is it possible for me to transfer into the biomed program?

I talked to an advisor and they told me “you can just switch over to general studies whenever you want, even during the summer before fall semester starts”.

At a transfer meeting though I was told “some majors will force you into a class, this is why the “im applying for agriculture science because its the easiest to get into, then i will transfer” doesnt work”

Would it be harder for me to get back into the engineering program from general studies since if I am accepted I am already in the engineering school? Sorry I don’t really know how it works. I am transferring from Purdue, where they have a first year engineering program, then when you complete that you select a specific major to move into. If you are not in FYE or any school of engineering, they kick you out into general studies. From there you have to meet really specific requirements to be able to get back into the school of engineering.
