Lost my oppurtunity to be Spanish Club officer?

Hi!

So last week, there was a meeting for Spanish Club in which we elected new officers. I had a quick Beta Club meeting (which I'm running for secretary in---no promises though) and then my sister said I had to go home or she would leave. (I'm a freshman and she's a senior---She loathes waiting in the car for me when I'm at club meetings). So I didn't get to go to the Spanish Club meeting.

They were electing officers, and there was one open spot since around only five people showed up. The sponsor asked my friend if I would be interested in being an officer (since I've attended all other meetings and am actively involved), and the position was going to go to me until a new club member said she would like to be in the position.

It's not detrimental to my existence, but I still feel sorry about this missed opportunity and a little irked by the fact that a girl who never attends meetings got that position. Any advice?

Bump

Sucks… You should raise that point (nicely, of course) to both the teacher and the new student. But it is your fault for not being there, no matter what the reason. If nothing happens, there’s nothing you can do, because you weren’t there.
2 of the 3 leadership positions on our math team were given to freshmen because they were assigned at the orientation meeting. Thankfully I was there… (I was one of the officer freshmen, lol)

Did you ask the Spanish Club Officer if you and the other student could give speeches and have a short campaign? I feel like it would be more fair that way.
