Louisiana State University?

Good school? I just recently browsed upon it, and their average GPA is around mine.
Thoughts, opinions? Basically anything on the school would be helpful.

Thanks in advanceee.

Half of my high school basically goes to LSU plus I spent over a month there this summer and i live 8 minutes from campus so you can really ask me anything you want.

Most people here would never dare going to LSU (prestige whores). awesome food, sports especially football is like, great looking women, nice honors college. Large alumni base. It is said that one night in Tiger Stadium is like having a party with 94,000 of your closet friends. The school has great parties consistently one of the tops in the country. Being like 30,000 people there are plenty of things for one to do and people to hang around with on any given week.

Most of the students are from Louisiana with an additional few from out of state. So many have already thier little cliques. LSU has some really good academic fields. If ya work hard you can get into some of the top schools in the country or preety easily get a job in and around Louisiana.

Definintely a real good school. Sort of underrated since people outside Louisiana hate it but if ya come you probably will love it. SOouthern Hospitality.

Ask me some more specific questions and I can help you out. Hope this helps out.

Thanks!
Well, I'm from Michigan, I'm only a Sophomore, I'm just exploring colleges right now though. I'm considering Purdue, Indiana and Loyola University of Chicago.

Would you say their average GPA is around a 3.4/3.5?
Are there a lot of things to do outside of the campus? Inside campus?

I have to go eat dinner right now, but I'll definitely think of more questions.

Thanks a lot. =)

I actually dont know about average GPA b/c all I know is that people at my school with a 3.0 core GPA and 21 on the ACT. I think that would be average with ACT around 25ish.

Outside of campus you are gonna probably want a car or a friend with a car because public transportation is not good in Baton Rouge. but I see LSU students outside of campus all the time. Tons of things to do at campus. Greek life is preety big on campus. Baton Rouge is now the biggest city in Louisiana and there is a lot of new businesses developing in the area.

I dont really know about humidity in Michigan but apparently I have heard it is a preety big factor for outsiders living here. However no worry about snow.

I already got accepted but will almost definitely turn it down.

So would you reccomend the school, or no?
Considering you will turn it down.

Depends on what you're looking for. Academics are so-so, partying is excellent as are sports.

Definelty I would recommend LSU if you want a good college experience different from what you probably see in Michigan.

The reason I am turning it down is because I need to experience a different type of setting so Ima probably be at MIT or Stanford. Going to LSU would be just like going to my high school and I know wayyy too many people at LSU already. I need to get out of the state and see more of this great country plus after getting into MIT early its hard to turn down MIT which could land me a job nationally while LSU is more regional.

I see you said Loyola University in Chicago. There is a Loyola University in New Orleans that is really good.
