okay. so basically, im mid junior year with a pretty horrendous 1.8 unweighted gpa (72.9) and a weighted gpa is a 2.3? (78). I have no extracurriculars (it wont be a problem to join any clubs now, tell me if i should!!!!!) but I plan on having 3 years of lacrosse (1jv, 2vars). I also volunteer at the humane society. My SAT score will be within 1800-2000.

My REALISTIC goal is to bring up my unweighted gpa to a 2.2-2.3 by the end of this year, which will bring up my weighted gpa over 2.5. But there lies one of my problems. Do colleges look at your weighted or unweighted average??? My goal is to get into any NY Suny. (Preferably NewPaltz or Oswego) and I noticed that the lowest gpa admitted is 2.5.... :(

I take no AP's this year, unfortunately, I realized the value of them too late. Next year, I will take APCalc. I am still debating on wether or not to challenge the AP French exam and take AP Bio.

Tell me ANYTHING I can do. COMMUNITY COLLEGE IS NOT AN OPTION.

I'm sorry this is typed really sketchy. I wrote this in-between studying for my midterms
I'm trying!!!!
Please help

I think you will struggle to get into most SUNYs with your current GPA. Make the rest of your year count. College apps for SUNYS are due around Dec 1st 2013, and they will ask to see what your senior year courses are (not grades), although they could request your first quarter grades. Senior year grades do not count toward class rank or the GPA you submit when applying to colleges.

SUNY colleges are rolling so the earlier you send in your stuff, the earlier you get a decision. you can try SUNY oswego, cortland, postdam you have a chance at these colleges.

Colleges look to make sure you are doing well senior year, but the GPA they look at is the one you have at the end of junior year. You might be able to get into one of the SUNYs. Also have you consider CC for two years then transferring?
