Low high school GPA

Right now i'm a high school sophomore. My goal is to eventually go to Med school, something along the lines of UCSF or Johns Hopkins. However, my grades are subpar. By the time I graduate high school, i'll have around a 3.5-3.6 unweighted GPA. I go to a top 100 high school in the nation (as ranked by usnews). I wanted to know if it was possible for me to get into any of the elite med schools if I go to a bad undergraduate program.

thanks!

Just get your study habits in order. You will have to get it straight eventually, just don’t wait so long as I did. You still have time. If you wait any longer, you’ll have to straighten it out in college. Why don’t you save yourself the trouble and bust your butt right now?

Your goal should be any legitimate med school (which is still a long way off – and many things may make you change your mind). By setting two super ranked med schools, you’re placing undue pressure on yourself. The same patient who calls you “doctor” one day won’t care if you got your diploma from JHU, UCSF, Stanford, Yale or your state medical school.

Here’s what helped me get my GPA up: just stop worrying. Just do.
