I heard that if there's a reason for your grades, if you get your HS counselor to mention it, the college may be more lenient, only my HS counselor no longer works for my high school, any other ideas how i could bring up the circumstance of grades without sounding fake/whiny?

Also, because I'm in the lower category of admissions, would I have a chance of getting into GSP if not CAS?

bumparoo ^-^

You can't get into GSP as a transfer student!

If I were you, I would consider waiting another semester or year in order to distance myself from my high school record, which is what I am doing.

Also, if the reason for your GPA is legit - i.e. death of a close family member, serious illness in the family, health problems, etc., then I would say that you should mention it to them and tell them honestly what happened. If it didn't happen (i.e. if there was no real reason), then don't mention anything. A legit reason will come across as legit and a bull**** reason will come across as just that.

I'm not sure that I can give you any guess on chances because it's more than just EC's and GPA. It's the rigor of your high school and college schedules, tests scores, writing ability, among other things...

You can get into GSP if you're not over second year. Thank you for your input - i 'm thinking about waiting another year

bumpsssssssss
