Hey everyone. As you know from my title, I have a very low sat score(930) but I have an ok gpa(3.3). I was a bad student until junior year when I started to raise my grades. This year, I have been doing excellent. I have gone from below a 2.0 gpa to a 3.3 in less than a year at a private school and I am currently attending dual credit classes at a local community college(3 in total) and I have gotten excellent recs. from the profs at the college. I have managed to get my status up to top 10 percent of my graduating class. I'm just wondering, do I have any chance at University of Michigan? This is my dream school and im dying to find out....Thanks.

Well, there are three U of M's, I'll assume you are talking about U of M-Ann Arbor(though Dearborn U of M is supposed to be solid too I'm betting you could get in there).

Well, it'd be a good reach... possibilities always exist. If I were you, I'd apply there for the hell of it(like I, with ending 3.6ish UW GPA and 1300s SAT will apply to Dartmouth for the hell of it), because it is your dream school and you need to give it a shot. IF you weren't to get in, you shouldn't be disappointed.

It also depends on where you are ranked. Keep in mind that U of M takes 9 out of 10 students from under the top ten percent, and therefore, you need to really boost the ranking if you can.

I'm not sure of your financial situation, but take the SAT at least once or twice more *usually scores improve. Don't be down on yourself now.

If you can eek an SAT over 1100 out, you have a much better shot. Even getting over 1000, hell, it just looks so much better if your recs are truly excellent and you have good ECs... who knows.
