I just took the college board full practice test and got a score of 1740.. (is this test a good indicator of the real thing?)
Math: 640
Writing: 630; 10 essay (I think the essay grade is correct because during SAT prep, my teacher usually gave me scores of 8 and 10)
CR: 470 O_O I usually get 500-550 on the ones I take on paper... maybe I just hated this section online.

Does anyone know how to improve on this?
I have school starting next Thursday with a really long schedule... thank god I got good teachers, though. :D

So i have school from 8am-3:08pm, track from 3:30pm-5:30ish, but I have to take the train home, so I usually get home by 6:30.

I plan on doing all the harder homeworks during class, whenever I find free time (I doubt this, but I still have to go to school to find out) and on the ride home (I don't care how tired I will be, I need to get 2100!!!)

How can I get a score of 750 on writing, 700-750 math, and at least 650 on CR?
I think writing would be easy because I can write good, and I know almost all the errors. (I mostly have to work on timing for this section)

I'll do whatever it takes!! Just pile on the tips, please :'(

Btw, my gpa isn’t the case. I already know I can get a 95+ average during the school year with my teachers, even though they are tough.

I also combine my class works with SAT. But be careful do not hurt your GPA. I have no experience with CB pratice test, but remember that it is another practice yest, you had better study more, do not think much about practice test’s score.

just practice as u can. for CR u have to READ alot and practice

Haha I can write “good” :p.

You can do it man. I’m in a similar situation to you. What do you struggle most with on the CR?

Sentence Completions: Study Vocabulary. A lot.

Passages: Remember that every single answer has to be validated in the passage somewhere. Every one.

This doesnt make sense to me I never studied for a test in my entire life until pre med biology (which I failed) and I got over a 600 on every section on this stupid test. This test does not gauge your ability to study and therefore do well in college, I did pretty well on it and now im just screwing around in college with a 3.5. This test should not determine how well you do in life.
But as for you CR score that is horrid, I would strongly consider reading most of the 100 recommended books for college. As I did

“I’ll do whatever it takes!! Just pile on the tips, please :'(”

Do you really mean that?

OK, here goes. This worked for my daughter and, frankly, for every one of her
friends whose parents followed the same script.

-Take the ACT.

-Have your parents hire three private tutors for ten weeks leading up to the test.

-Study two-three hours a day, every day during those ten weeks.

-Do not try to change this formula.

Sure there are plenty of students who improve their SAT/ACT scores by studying on their own, not studying, getting a good night sleep, etc.

Repeat, this worked. For seven students I know. All improved their test scores by at least 10%, some a lot more. My daughter’s went from the 60% to 91%.

If you live in an area with Craigslist, you can probably find the tutors there.

Have one of your parents call them to ask questions. If possible only hire tutors who will come to your house.

You are a motivated student, that’s why you are here asking advice. If you follow these instructions you will get much higher test scores. Do it!
