I am a rising senior and want to ask sth about this sending “SAT score”
First for October SAT, I got 1430 and got 1350 for December SAT. yup got a lower score.
Few days after the December test, my school counselor really pressured me to send scores ( she said its consequential if not received in time) to all schools im applying even before the December sat score release. So i sent both of my scores (didn’t know the december score at that time)
Do college admissions take test dates into consideration? Do they really only look at the highest score? Will my lower retake-score affect my chances?
Compare the percentiles of the component and total test with comparable scores on the other test. Unlike classroom tests in the same subject area you may find an upward progression of scores. Standardized tests include versions with one version being more difficult for you and could change the scores. What you are wanting to see is the difference in percentiles which may provide you greater understanding of the quality is specific scores and which version has scores that better track your interests. For example, if my goal was majoring in English, I would be inclined to choose the one with a higher score in English or reading. Does your school slow you to report the best scores across several retakes. If one version has a sizable overall score (change in percentile rating), I would chose the higher choice. So after looking over both overall scores, you may identify one as overall superior or may find on and by choice has scores that are more equitable or such. Compare and think about the scores and select the one you think best describes you.
You’ll be fine- they’ll only look at your highest score, and if they superscore, they’ll add your two highest scores together. So your overall score could be higher regardless.
I know that superscores take the highest score in each section.
does it take scores from three sections {1)reading 2)writing 3) math} or from two sections {1) reading and writing 2)math)
@infinitynbeyond192 The new SAT has two sections: Reading AND Writing, as well as math. The highest score of each of those TWO sections will be superscored. Check to see if your colleges superscore, but in reality it’s not a big deal. Colleges will look at your highest scores.
