Out of curiosity, where can I find actual examples of DBQs/FRQs.

I don’t find the fact that most FR scores at 3/9 surprising. 8-9’s are rare, and when you consider that there are many people that take the test that are clearly not prepared/don’t even care, it seems very possible.

Is that what you’re looking for?

My brother did Form B and he didn’t find it too hard; I quote “It was okay”.

scroll down a bit

Two APush teachers at my school. Ms. X lectured and required lots of boring busy work. Ms. Y led lively discussions and required indiv. research projects. Ms. X students are reporting 4/5’s. Ms. Y students 3/4’s.

@LeftWing: sounds like my predicament lol. Next year I will have the more interesting teacher and the one whose class is a lot easier. Although I appreciate that I will not be bored in class next year, I would have preferred the other teacher, who despite being quite bland, is a great teacher whose students usually get 4/5s. I won’t let myself get anything below a 5 though. I just won’t.

My APUSH teacher was the worst. It’s not just me being mean, I have 2 examples. One she thought that Andrew Jackson (the pres) and Stonewall Jackson (Confed general) were the same person. ***!! Then, she talked about Hitler and Musoulini, when we were “learning” about WWI.

I was able to score a 5 on the test, but only through my self-studying of the text book. The teacher was completely useless; if it had been a college class I would have simply not gone to class and only showed up for the tests.

As for scores being low, I know in my school they definitely will be. Only so many people were willing to closely study the textbook, the majority of them accepting what would be scores of 1s as an unavoidable destiny.

i would like to say that i failed APUSH yet got a 4 on the test
i’m that awesome :D

I had a teacher who would just ramble and give out free 100’s for grades on most things. I didn’t even bother reading the textbook because his class was so easy. Somehow, I managed to just absorb the material from out of nowhere. I thank CNN and my 8th grade history teacher for possibly getting a 5.

I haven’t talked to any of my classmates, but I got a 5. I didn’t think the curve was harsh and my essays sucked.

The MC was very easy compared to the SAT USH test I took the weekend before.
Yeah, DBQ topic was a *** at first, but hey, you get to choose your FRQ prompts, test is fairly easy if you have kept up with the work through out the school year.

sigh 4 i was hoping for a 5…

“The MC was very easy compared to the SAT USH test I took the weekend before.”

Really? I thought the SAT II MC was just as easy or even easier. Though I didn’t get an 800 (790!)… close enough.

Got a 5. I thought that the APUSH MC was a peace of cake. The DBQ was probably the hardest for me, but I think I did great on writing the other 2 essays.

My essays were really bad, yet I still pulled a 5. I owe it all to Crash Course.

^Yes. In essay #3, the one about the spread of slavery into western territories, I wrote about the South wanting to annex Cuba. LOL.

hahaha that is brilliant and makes me feel loads better!

Havent got back my scores but i think i did terrible on the essays. it was more of a time issue for me. I had never had to write that many essays in that short amount of time. My free responses were probably confusing and on the slavery FRQ I had to make three paragraphs so I know I got some serious points off. Still hoping for a five though

For the DBQ, all my sources centered around the puritans and sex, basically, it was a pg13 paper.

outside sources.
