Lowest GPA Admitted You Have Ever Heard Of

Anyone else notice this?
Asian Religions #applied= 1 #admitted= 0 avg.gpa= 3.57
That seems rather harsh for a major practically unknown. I’m guessing that individual might have messed up on their prereq.

Does other UCs have detailed lists of all students admitted in various major?

Yes, probably did not otherwise qualify for admission (not enough units or too many units including four year school units, did not complete available prerequisites, etc.).

I’ve posted this on another thread, but I’ll post it again.

This is a small sample, but when I visited Cal, all the transfers I talked to (friends of my friends) said they all had low 3.0’s when they transferred. I told them I had a 3.7 (true at the time) and they said not to sweat it. They all had vastly different majors. Then I came on here and was shocked to read that everyone expects high 4.0’s. I just hope that the students I talked to are right!

^^^what does low 3.0 mean? 3.02? 3.2? 3.4? There seem to be dramatic differences between those.

They ranged from below 3.5 to a 3.0.

Did you know their majors Fran? 3.5 getting into Haas vs. 3.5 getting into east Asian studies is a huge difference for example.

It was a while ago, can’t remember. Mostly liberal arts, I believe.

Technically I transferred to Berkeley L & S with something in the 3.4 range. I was coming from a 4-year private that’s notorious for grade deflation though, so that might have played into it. I made the Dean’s List for the semester they didn’t take into consideration :/. But yea… hope this gives everyone some confidence :D
