LSA and Engineering take same classes?

I'm wondering if the classes that engineers take to fulfill their core curriculum are the same as the ones that LSA students take. I'm talking about gen chem, intro physics, calc. I'm asking this because I was admitted to Engineering, but I'm not sure if I actually want to stay in engineering, because I might want to major in Chemistry in LSA. Are the freshmen year classes harder in engineering than in LSA? Or are they exactly the same?

No, they’re the same classes. Math, Physics, and Chemistry are all LSA classes. The only things that will be different is ENGR 101 (which is Engineering) vs. EECS 183 (which is LSA) and ENGR 100 (which is Engineering) vs. ENGL 125 (which is LSA).

Depending on how sure you are you want to transfer, you might be able to forgo taking either ENGR 100 or 101 first semester. They won’t tell you that you can at orientation, but they won’t force you into either. But only do that if you are really sure you don’t want to do Engineering.

You would have to fulfill the language requirement if you go the LSA route.

Ok, thanks!
