LSA-engineering

Is it easy to move from LSA to the engineering school at UM? Do you need to reapply or something?

Yeah, I think you have to reapply. A Umich counselor who came to my school said that it's easier to transfer from CoE to LSA, but that it IS very possible to go from LSA to CoE.

If you have a good GPA (over 3.3) and have taken the necessary classes (Calculus I, II, III and Physics) and did well in those, the transfer is pretty much automatic.

To transfer from COE to LSA, you fill out a tiny little slip and you are forever gone from the engineering school.

To transfer from LSA to COE, you need a 3.0 in the pre-major classes. It seems easy, but I think 90% of LSA would have trouble pulling this off.

There are more people transferring from engineering to lsa than the other way.

So if I want to transfer to Engineering after one semester (or two) in LSA, what do I need?

You should speak to a counselor, but as far as I know, you really should maintain a styrong GPA (over 3.3) and show the ability to deal with Math and Physics.
