@billcsho If my daughter hasn’t been accepted at Michigan as of today(3/26), is LSA honors pretty much off the table? Thinking they have offered all of the honors slots by now…She applied RD. 1540 SAT, 4.2 W GPA(All’s A’s except B’s in math all 4 years–now in AP Calc) All honors plus 9 AP(all 4 tests scored 5), musical instrument, leadership, research
Any chance for honors at this late date?
Thanks very much.
Does anyone have thoughts on how much of a benefit LSA honors is? Son has been accepted to Michigan and isn’t accepted (at least yet, though applying) to honors. Would/should not getting in be a deal breaker? (other options are available, including in state tuition and honors program at good but not Michigan-good Big Ten school)
@hhhjjj My son, graduates next year from Michigan, is in honors. The major benefit of being in Honors is living in South Quad. I wouldn’t use that as a deal breaker.
@hhhjjj Not being in Honors shouldn’t be a deal breaker. My daughter is a freshman and opted not to join LSA Honors (she had been accepted by Honors) and instead decided she’d rather join the LSA Residential College program because she liked it’s language program and community. And it wan’t very feasible to do both Honors and the Residential College since they both have their own specific requirements beside those for LSA and whatever she ends up majoring in. There are a number of other living-learning communities available, too (such as those for students interested in research, in community service, etc.).
are honors decisions coming out today?
I got in with a 31 act!
Accepted today! Good luck everyone!
@Bostonmom8 They have deferred a lot of the honor applications and the final round of honor admission will be announced in April 24. The deadline of application is 4/9. So it is still possible.
@billcsho Thanks so much for the information! You have been so help on this thread:)
son received acceptance email today around noon
