LSA vs Residential College: which is easier to get into?

I’m applying as a duel applicant, with Stamps as one school and either LSA or LSA/RC as the other. I would love to go to the RC, as I love languages (this is well established throughout my application), am creative and am interested in humanities. However, does anyone know about the RC acceptance process? Is it possible to be admitted to the LSA, but not the RC if you specify the RC on your app? And finally, do you think that being a good fit increases my chances of admittance, or is it academically more selective due to its size? I’m out of state and Michigan is already a slight reach for me, so I’m trying make sure my chances are as high as possible! Thanks in advance if you have any insight or advice!

You have to be admitted to LSA already in order to be admitted into the RC. So, yes, you can be admitted to LSA then not get into RC. RC is a living-learning community, similar to the many other living-learning communities on campus.

Specify the RC on your app. It looks good that you know about the program and it aligns with who you are. Pretty sure it’s not that hard to get into once you’re into Michigan, as well
