Firstly, I was admitted into the Core Program (I had applied to Tisch for Film). I've been reading a lot about these programs on this website, but my acceptance letter seems to contradict things I have heard. I had heard that the program is two years and you are not guaranteed admission into Tisch, but my letter says the following:

"At the end of your freshman year in the Core Program, if you remain in good academic standing, you will be guaranteed admission to the Tisch School of the Arts in your sophomore year."

Is this typical?

They also say, "After careful consideration of your application, we concluded that the Core Program in Liberal Studies is a perfect way for you to complete your liberal arts bachelor's degree core curriculum requirements and hope you will join us."
So by going into LSP would that be a way to get rid of NYU's GE's and then focus on film for the next three years.
Any help is appreciated!
