So...I found the forum from last year....reading it made me really excited :) ...this should be it if you want to take a look for yourselves
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/archive/index.php/t-146919.html

omg...so the last harry potter book comes out on one of the last few days of the program. i HAVE to get it, i've done the midnight runs/readings for the past few years!! i at least have to get the book somewhere in boston the day it's released!!! (i'm guessing the WTP ppl wouldn't like me going in the dead of night hahaha) ahhhh the LAST BOOK! i can't believe it

yeah...i'm a big fan of harry potter, dorky i know. but hey, we're all going to a summer engineering program so we're all a bit dorky. cool dorkiness though lol :)

bring your costume! and i will come with you at midnight! i bet we can get a group to do it!

i got into EECS, and looks like this thread's been going on for quite a while :D
if you guys don't mind me butting in, i'll be joining you guys in like, sixty-some days!! excitingexciting.

the harry potter movie comes out during wtp too... we should totally go see that too!!! (i feel better saying this knowing that I'm not the only one obsessed with harry potter!!!)

it's me again!! haha read this thing on another part of the forum.. something like Princeton or Yale stole for UChic. It's like a person asks a question and the next person to reply to the forum answers that question and then they get to ask the next one?? anyone interested?? i figure it'll be a good way to get to know each other beforehand... so i'll start I guess and we'll see how this goes.....

sooo... favorite movie?? anyone??

good idea Number!!!!! But first, we should definitely get a group together to go see the HP movie, but more importantly, to go get the HP BOOK!! I'm gonna be soo sad when I'm done reading it and its all over.

My favorite movie is a toss up between When Harry Met Sally, The Notebook, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Okay, next question... favorite book??

ooohh good choice on the movies!!! ummm my fav book is a tie between HP, Honor Among Thieves, andddd.... The Rescue...

ummm... favorite... food??? lol i don't know..

harry potter! (i'm all for the group idea!)
and freakonomics, dan brown's books, and john grisham's books (good fast reads...)

my turn- favorite music?

whoooah number1nerd beat me to it by one minute lol

haha i like tennisgirl's question better!! i couldn't think of anything... sooo favorite music anyone??

cmon yall.. somebody has to respond. don't be shy.

favorite music. favorite music.
frankly i have no preference.. i always feel funny saying that. but really, i listen to anything that goes across my ears unless it's like, a noise rather than a 'music' with some melody/beats

hmm. here goes my question:
if you were to drive with four almost-strangers in your school for ten hrs, what would you do to ease the awkwardness?
(strange question, i kno, but i'll be in that situation pretty soon and i'm pretty agitated by that.. it's an adult, four guys and me in a car and these ppl really have not much in common other than.. well.. going somewhere to do some math-_-)

ohh I think this question merits more than one response! I'd sing to the radio, loud and proud. (And my voice is horrid) But that would ease tensions. You could also ummmmm play some retarded car games like I Spy lol.

studying for AP tests is killing me!! my physics teacher really sucks so basically i've been attempting to learn the entire curriculum for physics B in the past two months- we only finished mechanics around february- he's so behind. i can't wait until APs are all over. what ones are you guys taking? I have Calc BC, Physics B, and English Language...

tennisgirl i know exactly what you mean!!! It just hit me that ap tests are just around the corner this week (yeah i'm lacking in motivation...) but luckily i ended up with competent teachers this year so we're starting to prepare already.. i just feel like the pressure is catching up and since the end of the school year is near i don't want to do anything!! i have four stupid tests to take, Calc BC, English Lang, World History, and Chem.... plus more standardized testing.. ugh.. i just hope i will be able to survive til June... at least at WTP we don't really get grades... the pressure will be lessened....

sorry about the long rant... feel free to unload your problems on me too.. it'll make me feel better knowing at least someone is in a similar position....!

I feel so out of the loop taking Calc AB!!! I blame my small town. I'm also taking English Lang and Physics B. Plus AICE Thinking Skills/General Paper/Physics/Math/English Lang. (AICE was started by Cambridge Uni in England and its equivalent to AP, and if you pass 6 tests you get this diploma thingy.) And my Physics teacher is worthless too.

This morning our math team that was formed less than 24 hours ago got 3rd place at the math bowl!! yay! :)

Hey, congrats to everybody who got in!

I'm a current MIT student and I'll be working at WTP as a CS tutor this summer - I'm looking forward to meeting all of you. ^_^

yay gig!! thank you!! I'm looking forward to meeting you too! :)

I got into EECS. Live bout an hour north of the city. Anyone like punk or the Sox? I wanna take some night and go to a good show or a game. Honestly...I need a friend who listens to the good stuff.
