Maby FSU is better then UF

Ok heres my problem I live in florida and have bright futures so it is a smart choice to attend a florida school . However i really thought i wanted to go UF but after touring each campus i think i like FSU campus better . Also I plan on majoring in poli sci And FSU in not only in the state capital but also ranking in the top 20 in the U.S . I would be able to intern at the numerous state dept. in the Tally area . My question is should I go to UF were its overall better ranked or to FSU were my Dept is is higher ranked .

i also plan on going to law/grad school so what is the best plan

thanks in advance .

I toured FSU with my D and I liked it a lot. If you liked that campus better and the dept. you are interested in is better, then take the plunge and go there. They have an honors dorm that sounded good.

My sons go to UF, but in your case I'd recommend FSU. For poli sci, are you kidding?? No question. You'll be right there in the state capital! I'd take advantage of the location and get a job working in government while you're there.

Sometimes you have to be willing to step away from the obvious path when you want what is down another direction. ("Two roads diverged in a yellow wood...")

In our state of WA most of the best students who stay in-state go to University of Washington. But if you want journalism or hotel management, you go to Washington State U. on the other side of the state, b/c that's where those majors are.

Talk to profs in both departments, & find out what internships are like. You will be happiest where there is the strongest department in your field, assuming you don't shift majors.
