ahh i also got an interview for hunter and got accepted into john jay today. wishing the best of luck to everyone!
So if you apply to Macaulay Honors and only listed two schools, you can first get accepted to one or both schools and then later to Macaulay Honors for one of them? Is that how it works?
Hello Misbee,
Yes, the schools will first review your application as a regular applicant, then if you applied to Macaulay they will further review your application and you can get invited to interview for the school to get to know you as a person, not numbers.
@hamilton51 Thank you.
btw, when is everybody’s interview date?
New information: The interviews typically last between 15-20 minutes.
Has anyone heard about interviews for schools other than Hunter?
Does anybody know the admission rate for students who were invited to interview?
I heard in the past they only had about 30 interview slots, but I’m not sure if its the same because of the work from home order etc.
After getting past the first rounds of admission and being invited to interview, does this mean that our Macaulay essays can no longer rule us out? Like, are admissions from this point forward based on how strong our interviews are?
Hello lordmercie, based on my research, interviews do not really count that much. According to Macaulay’s website, you have to have strong letters of recommendation and strong essays.
I believe Hunter is the only CUNY that does an interview for their Macaulay program.
When is your interview?
I’m a little superstitious so I don’t wanna share too much info LOL I hope you understand
No worries! I’m sorry if I made you feel like I was trying to invade your privacy. My intentions were not that.
It’s no biggie! I hope we both get in <3
Did anyone finish their interview yet or will have an interview this week?
I have my interview for Macaulay at Hunter today at 7 PM. Will let you guys know how it goes after.
great thank you!
Ok, so I just had my interview. It’s 15-20 minutes and they put you in a breakout room. I met with two current students. They ask you basic questions any college would. Make sure to have your CUNYFirst ID next to your name when you enter the room and don’t be nervous.
Hey,
thanks that was helpful. Do you remember any of the questions?
