Basically, should I take 1114 and 1140 in the same semester or just take 1147.

If you are REALLY terrible at math, take 1114 and 1140 in SEPARATE semesters. There’s no point taking both classes in the same semester unless you just need 1 more credit to meet your 12 credit mark. Take 1147, use Study Edge if it turns out to be hard, and get an A. The whole purpose of having separate Algebra and Trig classes is so that, if you’re bad at math, you can get a comprehensive review of both before starting Calc 1.

alrighty then, I’m not amazing at math but I don’t want to spend two semesters taking these classes…since I took precal in high school. I thought somebody said it was easier to take mac1140 + 1114 in the same semester than taking 1147 but I guess that’s not the case. Thanks for your help.

You’re welcome. I’ll be honest: I’ve never taken any of these classes (I just took Calc 1 & Stats 1, got an A in both), but I have friends who have taken them. I have never heard of anyone taking them in the same semester. Doing so just seems a bit overwhelming, and it seems more logical to take them in 1 class in a single semester. Good luck! :)
