I am a Journalism and Mass Communications major planning to enter GWU for Fall 08, and I'm not sure whether to stay in the themed Humanities/Sports housing at Madison (I'm a big sports fan), or stay in Thurston for the "experience".

I'm not sure if Madison is too isolated, small, or quiet... Can anyone give me a good idea of what the advantages/disadvantages to Madison over Thurston is?

I've heard just about everything I can hear about Thurston, but I know very little about Madison, i.e. room quality, atmosphere, etc.

I heard Thurston is not more "troublesome" than other dorms but is more numerous, 1000 freshmen together.. well
But certainly you'll get the experience that other dorms may not offer

Isn't Madison one of the dorms with walk-in closets? I believe my tour guide lived in Madison and he said the rooms are very nice (the closets are a plus for me!) and that it's one of the dorms where everyone leaves their door open so that everyone gets to know everyone.

Plus, The Hatchet ran an article today about the problem of students in Thurston throwing things out their dorm windows (everything from bottles to fruit, electric razors, and vacuum cleaners!) when they're drunk. I would HATE that atmosphere.

I also cannot decide between Madison and Thurston. I am interested in psychology and not in politics and am social... Which dorm would I be better in.
