I took the MAE Placement exam in June required for my major, biology, and the results I received back was Arc 35. The online algebra preparation class that I will to take as a class in the fall cost $280! An email sent with the information recommended me to take it again and study ALEKKS for $15 in order to save time/money in the fall from taking Arc 35. As a individual, math is my weak subject and I’m also not a well test taker due to the pressure. I can take the exam again but it has to be before my orientation date which is July 16-17. Another issue I have is since I live farther away, driving to UCR is the only location now to retake it. The email recommends I should in order to not fall behind and not be able to graduate in four years. I need advice and help on whether taking it again is the better option (personally I feel it’s rushed to try to study for math all again) or should I take the risk and sign up for the Arc 35 class in the fall class and it possibly delaying me to graduate in four years? Thanks.
You can sign up for Arc 35 in the Fall and just try to catch up with your classes by taking 1-2 during the summer session especially if you feel you do not have enough time to study for the retake.
I am taking the MAE Placement Exam soon and I am worried as ■■. When you took the test did they allow you to bring a calculator? pen? I couldn’t find anything about things to bring… maybe a small snack.
