Mailing in Apps--Help

Hey, since this Sunday is the first and a lot of colleges have a Jan 1st deadline, do you think it'd be okay for me to send my application out on Jan 2nd since the post office is closed?

Nitpicky question, I know, but any imput is welcome.

Send it Saturday...

Check and see if you have a post office in your area that is open on Sunday. For instance, in Houston the post office at the airport is open 24/7.

Will schools care if you send it Jan 2?..will you be penalized? i'm wondering the same thing..

I am not going to have them done until Sunday afternoon so I am lucky that I am sending all of mine online.

They would almost defineately accept your app. if it is postmarked on the 2nd but if you have it done I would defineately send it in on Saturday...

I think the post office will be closes on Monday too???
I believe this is because of the Sunday holiday, state gets monday off.?. I could be wrong though

Uh. If the deadline is 1/1, then you gotta send it by or before 1/1. That means, if your post office is closed on 1/1, then send it the day before (as I am doing). I found out that the post office is closed on Monday as well here (1/2), so I have to mail pretty much at least half of my stuff tomorrow.

Luckily, I'm only sending supplementary material by mail, not the apps themselves. I'm doing the apps themselves online, so I have a ickle more time to do things.

yah the only thing I have to send get to the post office before they close tomorrow at 12pm is my resume... Thank God. It is all set too... All that I have to do is print out copies and pop them in some manilla envelopes.

i would check the website for your schools... alot of them seem to be changing the deadline to the 3rd b/c post offices are closed on the 1st & 2nd. that might give you a little more time...

:O Really? What colleges do you know are changing the deadline dates, carpecollege?

Brown has their deadline date listed at Jan 3rd.

uchicago also changed theirs to the 3rd.
