Major change

I applied to LSU the other day with Film and Media Studies as my intended major, but now I’m starting to think that I should have chosen Film and Television because it seems to focus more on production. Should I email the admissions office or just wait til I get there to switch majors? These majors are obviously very similar so I’m not very stressed but I know I want to do production for sure. plus I don’t want to deal w the headache of switching majors right when I begin my freshman year of college!

sorry if this is confusing, I’m a little indecisive!! my nerves are just super high because of the whole college thing

Call their admissions office and ask. Unless you’re changing to something with different admissions standards (like some engineering programs) or number limits it likely won’t matter . It’s not that much of a hassle and chances are it won’t matter as a freshman, but you could read the program of studies and see if there is a reason to start in one versus other (like sequence of courses that needs to start in freshman year).

If you are changing majors within same college (arts&science, communications, etc) then it’s probably just a form.

Best answer will be from admissions office.

Yes! You can switch majors within your division once you got accepted. However, please also notice that you don’t have to declare a major until the third year.
