Major Changing- How will it affect my admissions

Hello, I am a freshman applicant and I want to change my major from economics (social sciences) to undeclared- intending letters and sciences for pre-business administration to Haas, I’m not sure if this is the right name of the “major” though.

I am unaware of how this major change will affect my admissions because technically, the pre-business administration major is an undeclared one, and I’ve heard that those who are undeclared typically see a lower admission rate. On the other hand, econ is a capped major at berkeley, so I don’t know which way I should go…

Thanks to all!

EDIT- I did not qualify for the regents or chancellor’s scholarships

Is Berkeley still allowing major changes at this date?

If you applied to the College of Letters and Science (L&S), intended major does not matter (except perhaps if your essays are inconsistent with it), since all L&S entering students enter as undeclared students.

Business requires an application to the major, usually within one’s second year after completing the prerequisites. Economics requires a 3.0 GPA in the prerequisites to enter the major.
