I want to go to a UC and declare my major as psychology for B.A. but I am concerned that I may not get into the major when it comes time to declare declare it at just one UC because of the competition/ acceptance level into the major. Is it possible for me to transfer to another UC after my first two years of completing the major prerequisites for Psychology and applying to declare for Psychology major in other UC’s?
You are applying as a Freshman to which UC’s? Psychology at the UC’s is usually in the College of Letters and Sciences which depending upon campus will not admit by major. You are then required to take the course requirements to declare the major.
UC’s that admit by major for Psychology are UC Merced, UC Riverside, UC Irvine and UC San Diego.
UC Santa Cruz admits into a “proposed major” and then you take the course requirements to declare.
UC Davis, Santa Barbara, UCLA and UCB admit into the College and then you declare after completing the course requirements
What are your 3 UC GPA’s, HS course rigor, EC’s etc…. ?
