Major warning signs at the College of Business

I was recently accepted to the CU Boulder Master of Finance program (a 3-semester program) for the summer semester. A few weeks ago I emailed the College of Business asking when the official start of the program was. I was informed that without notice, the start date has been changed to the Fall semester, and that they are cutting out the Summer semester entirely. They alleged they made this change simply to restructure the program, although no other MSF program doesn’t have a Summer semester and they made this change suddenly with no warning when they knew students were already looking for housing for the Summer.

Even now, weeks later, there has been no official announcement. I emailed the Faculty Director of the MS in Finance program a week ago, and though he immediately responded that yes, the program’s start date has been moved to the Fall, he did not respond to my question of why they cut the Summer semester.

I am very concerned the department/program is possibly having budgetary or other major issues. Does anyone have any information about this?

No, CU Boulder has seen record inflows of donations from alumni, specifically to Leeds.More money than ever is pouring into CU. The endowment is growing really, really fast. I would guess this issue you are referencing is because they want masters students to have the full faculty resources available.
