Majors at UCB & Conditions of Admissions

I applied for an MCB major in my junior transfer application.
It has a lower division requirement of integral calculus, which I had initially said I would complete by the end of summer but am no longer to do so. However, major pre-reqs were not stipulated in my contract of admission.
Therefore, if I wasn't able to complete the lower division requirement of integral calculus, does that mean I will be unable to apply for the major I want in Fall 2008? Or would I have to make up the course somehow once I transfer down? And by not completing the lower division requirement, doesn't that preclude me from taking upper division courses in the field I want?

Your best bet will be to contact your admission officer and explain to him or her about your situation and ask for the best possible solution for this matter.

According to assist.org:
You must complete all lower-division requirements, with the exception of
physics, before transfer. Complete the equivalent of:
BIOLOGY 1A, BIOLOGY 1AL, + BIOLOGY 1B
CHEMISTRY 1A + CHEMISTRY 1B
CHEMISTRY 3A, 3AL, 3B, + 3BL (or 112A + 112B)
MATH 1A + MATH 1B

However, according to MCB Undergraduate Program - Declaring the MCB Major , In order to declare the MCB major, you must have completed Biology 1A/1AL and Chemistry 3B

If I were you, I would check with the admission officer that your application won't get rescinded because you failed to complete a required class before you transfer.

i'm in the same situation... i said i would take advanced composition in the summer (assist says its a "pre-requisite for admission"), I got admitted, and in the contract of admissions it only demanded that i complete the classes that i was taking now (this spring), and made no mention of advanced composition.

I emailed a counselor asking her if i could take the class this summer at berkeley, and this is the response i got: "You may take the class in summer at UC Berkeley summer session. We do not require you to take summer class unless you need them to meet eligibility requirements."

I emailed her back, asking her to clarify (so i HAVE TO take the class this summer?)... I'm about to call a councilor on monday... i'll keep you posted, and please keep me posted..

I am also an MCB major. On my conditions page, it specifically states that one stipulation of admissions is that I finish my integral calc by the end of spring, which I had listed on my application. I also listed that I would take multivariable calculus in the summer, but that wasn't listed under my conditions.

My admissions officer told me to contact the college of L&S, which I thought was weird.

Does anyone know if an AP Biology score of 5 can replace te BIOL1A/1AL requirement?
