What is a good major for a pre med student that wants to have a good back up plan in case they do not get in?

What subjects do you like and are good at? Unless you like the subject and are good at it, you may not do well enough to be employable in major-specific jobs with it.

Math, statistics, and economics are generally among the majors with better job prospects but not so many requirements that adding pre-med courses will be hard to fit into the schedule. (As you probably suspect, biology and chemistry are not particularly good for job prospects at the bachelor’s degree level.)
