From what I've read, the majority of people taking the Chinese subject test with listening are native speakers, or gew up with parents who spoke the language.

I'm not native, have no Chinese relatives, but I lived in China for four years.

If I got a 650 on the Mandarin SAT, would colleges give it even a glance because I'm not Chinese (native)?

I mean, come on...if you're fluent in the language, then of course you're going to get a perfect score.

that's a tough call. just remember that the average on this test is a 760-770. but then again, you're not chinese, so they'll probably forgive you.

Yes. The average for a Chinese person I'm guessing. Could be wrong.

And I'm guessing nobody knows since I've gotten 46 views and one reply.

I'd say it's probably not worth it. A classmate of mine got 740 and it was 14th percentile.

O_o 650 in chinese is kinda...eh. I'd say no because even an 800 on the test is just like 65th percentile and the scale is really harsh

Um...ya because the vast majority of those who take it are fluent. Why take a test in something you already know?
