I am so scared to find out if I am in or not. I really do believe I am a potential candidate for this school because of leadership and my goals. But I really fear because I am the <1% who actually has a chance (3.5 & 21 ACT). I keep looking at my essays and it really shows I was so honest…I spilled my heart out! Anyways, who is scared or confident. This is more like a count down thread…Let’s actually talk about our applications; what we didn’t like, our stats, stuff like that.

Are you ■■■■■■■■ and saying you have a chance with a 21 ACT, or am I reading something incorrectly?

oh no, just a countdown thread lol…I think it was Harvard who had one…

and if you read there facts & figures…there is <1% of people who got accepted to Brown with a 23 or less. Also, there is no GPA or ACT score set. High scorers usually get in because they are the inviduals who tend to actually do something or be unique.

their* sorry mispelling.

I don’t know, I’m not buying that you are real. If you read the facts and figures you’d see that people with that score have to deal with a .8% acceptance rate. Point 8, I don’t envy anyone in that position.

Okay. Sorry you have to believe an ACT score and GPA define a person. I really did not ask if I was real. You do not know me to say that; you do not know what I do extra cirricular wise or who am I as a whole. AND This is just a countdown thread until the 30th.

“There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.” --Buddha

Everyone can believe in themself or have faith. If I get denied, the only thing I would say is I tried.

True. All you have to know is that you tried your best and have faith in yourself. That just shows how mature you are. Numbers don’t define who you are; all they tell us are that how good you are at test taking, and kissing teachers’ butts to get the grades in that particular class. Remember, there is always favoritism. If teachers liked you, then you most likely will get high grades, then you will end up getting a high gpa.

Be confident, fe2011.

fe2011 I admire your confidence. I wish you best of luck! (:

Hey thanks you guys. Like for real I like to inspire people. And I just don’t like when people underestimate everyone because within each person a story lies underneath. And really my gpa could have been higher but theres things called minuses that had to be so bothering! And if I don’t get in, I am most likely going to Michigan state because well in state and I didn’t bother applying to Ann arbor since early admission results were weired literally. I wanted to go to Iowa because the Pre med program. But yeah, when you need someone to inspire you I’m definitely here! Where all you guys applying?

Your stats are rocky for Michigan State, FE. They mostly admit on stats and yours are very low in their range. I hope you have good back ups planned. Best of luck to you.

fe in Spanish means faith. So have faith in yourself! I am also really hoping I get into Brown as it is my top choice. Well if you get in, then wonderful; if not, you know you gave it your best shot. Brown University is a university that goes beyond scores, it looks at the person underneath that, and that is why I love Brown so much.

T26E4, i already got admitted to state lol. And yeah that’s why I applied too. I just really regret not applying to NYU…someone told me I look for a fit for NYU. I might want to transfer there or go to there med school. I want to expand my horizons.

and I didnt know that means that in spanish- I took 3 years of spanish!

So other than your stats, what don’t you like?

Nothing. :)

The only thing I regret in the college application process is that I felt it forced everything to be quantified. I think it creates much excess stress during what is otherwise supposed to a low-stress year.

Very True!

Fe2011, you are awesome  Also, no matter what decisions are made, you are right in saying that at least you tried!!! You never know unless you try!!! Good luck to you :)

HPFan13, thanks  you are awesome too! are you applying to Brown?
