I've heard that the March new SAT curve will be ridiculous, the best it has been for a long long time (heard like 4-5 wrong in math can STILL get 800 on Math). So can anyone confirm this?

Nobody knows this at all. It is just a rumor.

alright guys, i have present for everyone taking the new sat in march, princeton review received a copy of the scale CollegeBoard/ETS is planning to use for the new test from the COLLEGEBOARD (so it is legit)...it goes like this:

Raw Score, Scaled Score
Math:54-800, 53-790, 52-760, 51-740, 50-720, 49-710, 48-700, 47-680, 46-670...and so forth

Critical Reading: 67-800, 66-800, 65-790, 64-770, 63-750, 62-740, 61-730, 60-720, 59-700, 58-690, 57-690, 56-680...and so forth

Writing: 73 to 69- 800, 68-780, 67-770, 66-760, 65-750, 64-740, 63-730, 62-720, 61-710, 60-700, 59-700, 58-690, 57-680...and so forth

Grammer Sub Score: 49-80, 48-80, 47-80, 46-79, 45-78, 44-76, 43-74, 42-73....and so forth

Yeah, so I just typed the first 10 ish for each section, it gives you all an idea of how the curve will most likely look like for the march new sat. Good Luck =)

Lovely...not. :(

ouch......................

xindianx, where did you get this?

this is also the curve of the free new sat test on collegeboard.com

I wonder, because they can't decide on that until after they equate it with previous tests.

wait... 54 equals perfect... so that means one wrong or one omit on math is a 790? that's a little hard to believe...and disconcerting as i always get one wrong... like at kaplan... "low difficulty" my ass

i actually like these curves...maybe i've been looking at princeton review verbal curves too much

princeton review verbal curves are horrendous... 800 790? that's worse than the old sat verbal. seems more like perfect score really means perfect score

this is just like the PSAT we took. The curves are getting harsher and harsher.

crap, that's ridiculous. -2 math is a 760? this is gonna suck

do you guys think subsequent new SATs after the March one will have similar scales?

no that can't be right, maybe for psats... but no... how can one wrong be a 790 on math...? it was an easier curve prior to the change... and supposedly there are added topics in the new sat... wouldn't that equate to an easier curve?

Good! The CR curve is much less harsh then I was worried it would be; but I still wish it were a little more lenient

they cant make a scale until they administer the test, so i can't see how this is "real"

That math curve seems unbelievably harsh.

Look on the bright side, the writing curve seems to be really generous - 5 points off will get you an 800 if I'm not mistaken.

I'd like some further proof...

I've heard that the curve will be very GOODDD(like i said in the original post).
This i heard from someone that grades the SAT writing portion for the SAT Board.
