Marine, oceanology, anyone interested in this stuff?

well, im and i was wondering if there were any programs like internships or summer programs! thanks!

me too! going to University of Miami's Summer Program in Marine Biology this summer!

cool! bump!

CMON! someone's gotta be interested in ocean! its like two thirds of the earth!

well our science team participates in the Ocean Bowl, and the kids who do it generally are crazy about ocean. or at least one of them is.

but anyway, the one summer program I know of is the CAA program. It has lots of courses on marine/oceanography stuff (although you can only take one course each session) including Oceanography: The Hawaiian Pacific and Whales and Estuary Systems. link to the catalog and course descriptions can be found here: http://cty.jhu.edu/summer/catalogs/caascience.html

the only restrictions are you have to be under 17 (the deadline's passed for this year though so if you did it it would have to be next year) before June 1 and you had to have had a sufficient score on the SATs. I don't know what the cutoff is, but you can look it up if you're interested.

I am!! Ever since I was a little child.

My house is about 8 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, and maybe 6 miles from the Indian River Lagoon - it's sweet. I'm thinking about volunteering for the Florida Wildlife Commission.

I think it's really cool, but sadly my high school doesn't offer a marine science class. :[
So I just check out books about it and learn what I can. . .but I'm definitely going to make sure I can take a class or two in college!
