Does anyone know how many Theater Arts w/music theater minors they take. I can't keep all the programs straight at this point

There are about 1,000 (or more) people that audition for the BA and BFA in all concentrations and about 15-20% get in. I don't know exact numbers.

Thanks byorkman

To desperatescholar
My daugher has been accepted into the BA Directing Program. To those of you asking about being accepted academically prior to audition; we received our academic acceptance in November of '06, then auditioned in January at MM. MM is one of her top schools, however we are still waiting for word from her other schools before a final decision is made.

I understand the school works on rolling admissions, is it too late to apply for any of their theatre programs?

Maybe not. I have a rescheduled audition on Apr. 14th so maybe they will let you audition too and like you said, the rest is on a rolling basis.

Gosh when am I going to find out!?!?

I got rejected. Lovely. I don't really care, though. right now I'm more concerned about getting financial aid for NYU....if I can't go just because it's too expensive, I'll be devastated. But I guess that's a topic for another forum, haha.

Congrats to everyone who got accepted!

That's GREAT about NYU noccalaura28. Yeah, so still haven't received ANYTHING YET! Not even from the school itself. I've called the admissions office and the theater admissions office and they said I should have my letter by this Thursday. Well it's THURSDAY (lol) and still no letter.

This is killing me. Not to mention this is my top choice.

I got in! For BFA in acting though. I'm excited but at the as time really bummed. I really wanted the Musical Theater minor.

Congrats byorkman!

You've got quite a list of schools to choose from! That's so exciting!

Congratulations byorkman!!

My daughter will be attending Marymount in the fall BA Theatre Arts, Minor in Musical Theatre. She's really liked this school and is happy that she will be starting in the fall.

My daughter is also attending MMC in the fall, BFA in Dance. If you PM me maybe the girls could meet on Facebook.

congratulations to everyone who got into MMC and to those who are attending! I am starting my college search a little earlier than most, and I recently came across the program at MMC. I would really like to find out more about the BA program with the MT minor. Mostly, my questions are regarding voice lessons- are private voice lessons offered to MT students, regardless of year? Also, how are the voice teachers- are you learning a lot, is your voice growing, etc? What techniques are you learning (legit/belting...) Would you really recommend the program?

Thank you so much!

I study with Melissa Hart, who teaches/ is one of the coaches at Marymount.
She's SO great and my voice has grown so much since I started with her!

how many guys go to Marymount - acting?

hey ok so i love MM and i got accepted into the college academically, today actually. but im kinda freaking out about the audition. i mean i have experience with auditioning but im not sure what to expect from the program in general. From some people i hear the program is not that competitive but from others i hear its very competitive. And the courses? what are these like freshman year?

Hi, my D was just accepted into MMC for fall '08 and now she will audition in January for theatre/MT. I wonder how important the song choice is for the audition. In our visit last week, they told us that Gilbert and Sullivan is probably to classical and that anything from Les Mis, Phantom, etc. is too pop opera. My D has both a belt and legit voice. Any suggestions from those who have gone through MMC audition process? What worked and/or what would you have done differently?

Hey everyone! i just got accepted academically for the fall 08 school year academically. i was wondering how is the audition process for the theatre and MT minor. Also, how are the Theatre professors?
