Master List of Final Decisions, Fall 2012

chemusic, does that mean he will attend Vassar? If so, I will note it on the spreadsheet and in the next report.

Thank you! I’ll be studying w/ Mr. David Updegraff.

Congratulations to Lifeofsolitude.

Yes BassDad he will attend Vassar. Thanks.

My Son has decided on the Music Industry Program at Saint Rose. They offered a great scholarship package and he feels that it is the perfect for him.

Congratulations to chemusic and son, and to jmd5505 and son.

Congratulations also to eyemom and son, for son’s decision to attend University of North Texas, majoring in Jazz Studies (piano).

Congrats jmd5505 on the decision to go to St Rose. We looked long and hard at that program. In the end, my son decided it wasn’t the right fit, but it sure looked like a lot of good things are going on there!

After a long process, I’m happy to say that I will be attending the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) in the fall. Thank you to everyone here for the help along the way!

Congratulations to musician34.

Congratulations to crazymusicmom and son, on son’s decision to attend Boston University, as noted on another thread.

After four years of reading this board regularly, learning so much about being a music major, having tons of questions answered on topics ranging from summer festivals to the politics of sample lessons, it’s finally my turn to post a college acceptance.

I’m happy to report that my son has officially accepted UCLA for a B.A. in composition with a music scholarship. I would like to thank everyone on this great forum for their sharing their experiences and knowledge about what it takes to be a music major. It was incredibly helpful and we will always appreciate this great resource.

Congratulations alohagail. Please do stick around on this forum and keep us posted on how your son progresses, as well as using your own wisdom to help guide the next ones seeking our collective advice.

Congratulations to alohagail and son.

My son has enrolled in the Columbia U / Juilliard Exchange program. His instrument is the organ. Thanks to everyone here for sharing your experiences. This board has been invaluable.

What a great opportunity mrky----keep us posted if you can, the program is frequently mentioned—but rarely from a parent or student who has any direct experience.

My D reached her decision last night: University of North Carolina School of the Arts for a BM in Flute Performance. She wasn’t 100% excited, but it seems to offer more of the key elements she was looking for - great professor, collaborative environment, conservatory atmosphere, exposure to film studio music, somewhat affordable (out-of-state for us).

Congratulations to mrky and son, and to Mater and daughter.

Congratulations to beviolins, who reports a decision to attend Peabody for violin performance (despite an earlier announcement for CIM in another thread) via PM.

I will be attending Brown University next fall double majoring in Music (Composition, Theory, and History Track) with an emphasis on Composition and cognitive neuroscience. SUPER EXCITED!

Congratulations to ryantexas32.
