<p>They have definitely cut down the number of characters, more than likely it is because they are using a new db schema and limited the size (in part, which also makes accessing the db easier, cuts down on contention and such, and keeps an over long message from causing a db fault)</p>

While I understand the rationale, it would have been great if they had some sort of “override” for list type threads OR if the CC powers- that- be had made an announcement and had also let us know about the sudden downshift in editing time! I was able to keep the thread neater with an hour to edit, but wow, taking away that 45 minutes came as a surprise!</p>

<p>I fell really badly about this waitlist problem. D got an email today saying she is still being considered, they are sorry for the wait. However, the deadline is past for telling other schools and for teachers trying to arrange their studios. What is the best way to handle this? It seems we are making somebody mad, no matter what. Next week is the deadline for getting the paperwork in to reserve the scholarship dollars at the second choice school. Even my dog is upset.</p>

<p>I thought grad deadlines were April 15. (I mean, I know the waitlist might come in at any time, but didn’t you need to accept #2 school already?) Anyway, you should accept #2 by the deadline, make a deposit, and prepare to lose it if you get into #1.</p>

<p>Did that on April 15. Accepted #2 and paid a deposit and prepared to lose it. But I have to sign a form regarding the financial offer by April 30. And I feel badly because school #2 thinks we are “in.” So if I get a yes from #1, then #2 gets to go to their waitlist? But they thought I was in so did they let their waitlist go??? Undergrad was not this confusing.</p>

<p>One week to decision day with an undecided D. For those considering dual degree, I will say that has definitely complicated the decision process especially with waitlists involved as well. Still one more waitlist we are dealing with on the engineering side at one of her schools, which may not be resolved by May 1. Will be down to the wire…</p>

<p>@POTO Mom- You did the right thing by accepting school #2. However, glassharmonica is correct, in graduate school your daughter signs the paperwork, not the parent. If you don’t hear from school #1 by the deadline of 4/30, and she needs the financial aid from School #2, your daughter has to sign on the line, accept the money and decide to be happy there. It’s insane, I know, but by this point, you can’t be stressing like this- she is all grown up and needs to take this on herself. Schools deal with the students at the grad level while we step back and look to the future. Deep breathe, please, and may I offer you some of my wine? :wink: </p>

D has a great attitude about where she lands. The difference in the cost of the two schools is very significant, however. #1 is #1 for numerous reasons.</p>
