math 103 pre med?

i'm sorta confused about my math class. i got a 5 on calc bc, so i am eligibile to take math 103. but math 103 isn't a required class for pre med? would it be a waste to take the class then?

no not a waste, you would get a lot out of it

haha oh bsbllallstar and his go-get'em pratt mathiness. From a non pratt perspective:

103 is a ton of work, and while you get alot out of it, are you really going to be applying any of it in your pre-med studies, or would just AB/BC calc be enough for you? If so, I'd shy away from 103, but that's just my liberal-artsy opinion.

too late...signed up for it and from what i heard it's just as much work as the other calc class..41 or w/e?

No, 103 is NOT as hard as the 32 sequence. Hard, but not that hard.

**It just occurred to me that if you already have a 5 in BC, 32 would probably be a lot easier.

And many medical schools require math. My recommendation is Math 103 and Stats 103.

maybe i'll try stats 2nd semester. we'll see. thanks for all your help bluedevilmike, you've given so much advice over the weeks. are you still at duke?

Nope, decided to go elsewhere for next fall.
