Math and Med School

I'm considering which math courses I should take next year, and I'm thinking about doing the 31/32L series. I'm in BC calc right now, so there is the possibility of getting credit, but honestly I am not very confident in my math abilities. Two questions:

1) Would taking the "bare minimum" math (instead of going to 103 etc.) reflect negatively on me for med school purposes? Maybe this is a stupid question -I'm really only familiar with high school and the "you must take APs to go to college" mentality.

2) I've heard that intro classes can be even harder than higher level ones (weed out courses, if you will). Do you know if this is the case with the 31/32L classes? Any personal experiences to share?

Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

1) no
2) Math 31/32L is a weed out course. Perhaps one of the toughest course to get an A in at Duke.

Good to know, thank you!

Do you know anything about Math 41s reputation? The 31/32 series sounds more interesting to me, but I really don't want to jeopardize my grade (awful as that may or may not sound).

(or, for that matter the reputation of 25/26)

I have a couple of friends who took 41 this year. They said it was hard. But I don't really know since I'm not in that class.
