I plan on majoring in I-D Neurobiological Sciences at UF, and then going into med school.

I have taken up to high school calculus, but i finished that about two years ago and my math skills are very rusty.

My question is, what math class am I required to go up to for my major, and what math classes should i take to be very competitive in med school admissions?

Assuming that I have placed high enough to choose either MAC 2311 or MAC 2233,

Should I take MAC 1140, MAC 1114, or MAC 1105 to better prepare myself for MAC 2311? Or should I take the 6 weeks ALEKS remediation to brush up?

I’ve taken mac1105 and its the absolute basics aside from addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division but surprisingly helped with calculus which I was taking at the same time (ap calc ab) but it was a requirement rather than a choice so idk how those other classes are and if they would prepare you better for mac2311

MAC 2311 is pretty easy. If you know the basic concepts in precalculus, the other preparatory classes shouldn’t be of necessity to you. Besides, I heard those classes are considered the “weed-out” classes.

Hey sorry to bother anyone, but I was wondering what classes I should take for my freshman year at UF. I leave for the fall term and I’m not quite sure what classes I should start off with to get on the right track for pre med. I took up to Pre-Calc in high school so I’m guessing I should start of with MAC1105 and then take MAC2311 or MAC1140. I’m just confused on what to start with first because I know this math isn’t fresh in my mind. If anyone can give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it :]

Anyone know the difficulty of differential equations for summer b? My sisters a math major at usf for pathology. For her math is considered a science so its good to go high. To find out how much u need check the pre requisite for ur desired med school . Usually its up to caculus 2 n u might be able to replace it with statistics .
