Math Class at the Same Time as Soccer Practice???

So I’m a junior. If you were to ask the one EC that has defined my life until now, it would be soccer. I’ll be a key player on varsity this year (yes we have a season), and I am on track to be captain next year.

I’m also taking Multivariable Calc at my state flagship uni, and apparently there are mandatory recitations twice a week (thankfully I will be attending remotely) from 4:40-5:30. My soccer practice is daily from 5:00-6:30…it takes 15 minutes to get to the fields.

What do I prioritize??? I’m a bit clueless as to what I’m supposed to do now.

You signed up for the class. That’s your first priority.

See if there is another recitation you can switch into. Usually there are many many sections of a recitation.

If that’s not an option find a WiFi hotspot near your practice field and tell the coach you will be 30 minutes late on those days.

@momofsenior1 the only other section is from 5:40-6:30. Looks like I may have to miss some of practice.

That sounds like the best solution of the coach agrees. If not, I would say academics comes before extra curricular activities at least in my family.

Mine too

But talk to your coach so they are aware of what you are going to do.

Find a hotspot near the field.
As for now, explain to the coach that you’ll need to be at (hotspot) for a recitation
AND email your MVC recitation instructor
(Dear Pr z, I’m a HS student enrolled in your MVC class and I was just told the recitation section conflicts slightly with another activity I am registered for. I will try my best but may be a few minutes late to recitation. I wanted to let you know so that you knew it wasn’t out of disrespect or lack of time management skills. Will you need me to do something in particular due to this issue? Thank you, sincerely, … …)
