Math Grade - Columbia

Is it possible to get into Columbia with a B+ in Honors Precalculus for Sophomore year and a B+ in AP European History for sophomore year?

these are my first semester grades

Yes it is.

Okay, let me rephrase the question. How likely is it? (I have all A’s in my other classes.)

bump…

Very unlikely. Not because of the B’s, but because the overall admission rate is so low. One or two B’s won’t affect you.

The two Bs won’t kill you in any way (especially if they were in honors and AP classes which they were). But there is more to being accepted then grades, you also need great scores, ECs, essays and recommendations. You also must remember that the acceptance rate is beyond low.

I agree with Nicknicholas. Regardless of what you do, it’s very hard to get into Columbia.

On the other hand, two B+s shouldn’t kill your app. There are way too many unknown factors. Maybe you have strong ECs, or perhaps your essays will really hit home with whoever reads your app.

Best of luck!

Thank you all! :)
