math grades

i'm a freshman & i'm in an honors algebra 2 & trig class. the teacher is really hard & i'm doing terrible in the class. i'm the only freshman in the school taking algebra 2. i don't really know what i should do about it. do you think moving down in levels would be bad or beneficial because i really don't know... so far, we've only had one test and a quiz & i got a 63 on the quiz & a 73 on the test. we have another test of tuesday & i'm so nervous. idk what to do. opinions?

????????????????????

If you keep doing poorly, and you really have trouble understanding the material, then you might want to think about switching down.

Do you have a good enough foundation in algebra 1? In other words, do you think your problem is due to the teacher/teaching style or the material itself? Do you think you would learn more by dropping down a level, or would you be repeating material you already know very well, just to do well in the class? If that is the case, then while your current class might not be right for you, you might want to look into things you could do on your own to keep improving your math skills. Independent study might work. There are also neat courses offfered online through www.artofproblemsolving.com.

Sit down, crack open a book, read the examples, do the problems, and keep doing the problems until you get them right. It's really the best way to understand everything rather than have someone spoon feed the concepts to you.
