Math IC Death Penalty?

Hey is taking the SATII Math IC really bad when applying to harvard since everyone probably takes the IIC? I am worried tomorrow I have that test and if you miss only a few questions your score is reduces significantly! Has anyone gotten in using Math IC? What was your score? I mean a 800 on the IC would probably be impressive because it really means a perfect test..right?

See this document from the College Board

<a href="http://www.collegeboard.com/prod_downloads/about/news_info/cbsenior/yr2005/2005-college-bound-seniors.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.collegeboard.com/prod_downloads/about/news_info/cbsenior/yr2005/2005-college-bound-seniors.pdf</a>

for figures on how many people get what score on the SAT II math tests level 1 and level 2. Then do the math to figure out how many of the high scorers can fit into Harvard's entering class of 1,660 or so students. From there you can make a guess about what might be impressive to the Harvard admissions officers.

Good luck on your test, and good luck in your applications.

dude, you are URM, you will get in. just sit back relax and enjoy a 'rita on the rocks.

Oh sure yeah right! :) Today I think I did well on US History and Bio-E but I think I bombed the math 1 because I could not FINISH...rrrr darn! The questions are so easy but I could not solve them in time and wish such a death curve I probably got well below 700 or maybe the curve is not as bad as imagined? The US HIstory curve is GORGEOUS! Gosh...how does everyone study for AP classes AND these tests? I can barely manage my classes and overwhelming ECs! Well, I am overdoing it in classes... my school in block has 4 classes but they move at a tremendous pace because the next semester is technically a "new school year" and unless you have AP classes you take different one credit course. Well, in that block scheduling I have 3 APs ..BUT Online I have 3 APs and 1 honors! That is like 2 years of high school at once....geez...I hope that is impressive for Harvard.

i will bet that you'll still get into harvard. you just wait. ;)

Man I really hope...I think I did awesone on my history and bio subject tests but not math1. I hope they really see how HARD i work. I am also valedictorian ..the first hispanic valedictorian in my school's history...my spanish teacher whi identifies with me will declare that in her letter of rec! I might just work. Also, ive got quite a story coming from NYC (not really the best in school) all the way to now. And how being an inner city (formerly) student I can identify with them and help tutor them to help them get the best education they can as i was lucky and given many opportunities! :) I hope they note my BURNING AMBITION about that!:) :)

What are your SAT I's like?

ha..more like ACTs :) I think it might be like 31 or 30. My satIIs maybe mid to lower 700s on bio E and US HIst but the math1 was a disaster because i simply could not finish! Ima take math2 next time and actually study for it because of its gorgeous curve! I need to do well! GOSH! I am so busy...and you cannot say my life is school either...its just EVERYTHING! class, online class, leadership duties, community service tutoring, church, church band, ...eating(need that), sleep(need somma that too)... crapping in a social life with other stressed students. AHHH cannot wait to either be rejected or accepted...I just want things to settle!

well its school focused at least..but just everything is an obstacle...ah yes...true life! :)

Please don't post ignorant garbage.

i think he was being facetious...

"i think he was being facetious..."

too many people have said this so this shouldn't be taken facetiously

Ouch don't say garbage that is brutal...although what was said was a little extreme because it takes way more than "sitting back" :)

Many URMs do not get in. If every URM got in, they would no longer be underrepresented.

true...like Asians

btw, why can't I quote or edit my posts?

Alrighty lets get off this URM and AA discussiom and go back to math1. So have any of you omitted too many and ended up with 700?
