MATH II SAT 2's geniuses

get a ti-89.. don't use barrons cuz it's way too hard and there's no point overpreparing

get kaplan

12% of the M2C takers get 800. I'd hardly say that top 12% = genius.

I think I bought a barrons. Mostly had to review graphs which I hadn't done in a while. The problems in it were overly difficult. Did fine on the test.

Flippy, top 1% is not Genius either. Depending on your definition of Genius, you can count all the Geniuses that ever lived with your fingers; I'm afraid that's far fewer than 1% of the takers of a particular SAT.

That said, an 800 on the Math II is still an accomplishment. 12% make an 800, that's true, but remember that only students who are good at math even take the M2. If everyone had to take M2 as a part of the SAT I, you'd see a significant change in what percentage scores an 800 overnight simply because the body of students taking the test is different.

I think it's more hard work, than genius.

in response to the last two posts,
You guys have never seen any hyperbole on CC before. How Anal.

my response wasnt to the thread title, it was to the other responses. Math 2c is an easy enough test to study for without genius, only hard work. Plus the curve is so generous I would say an 800 is plausible for many test takers who are willing to work for it.

what's the best online prep for the math II's?

there's online prep?

I took the weekend after I took the Calculus BC AP exam. I got an 800.

I used the Kaplan book and the McGrath-Hill book(the one with 9 practice tests). On the test, I omitted 2 and got a 790

sparknotes are the closest thing to the test.
i used sparknotes first then barron's.

i skipped 4 and probably missed one.
i got an 800 B)

What do you guys think of the Meylani book? I used Barrons, Meylani, and REA Math IIC to prep and I plan on taking the test in October. After practicing with Meylani, however, I must say that Barrons makes me want to jump with joy.

meylani is tougher than barron's?

I borrowed Meylani's from a friend of mine. It's so fckin hard I don 't know what to do with it. XD

Thank God, I thought I was the only one. There was like freaking Physic questions in there.

Stick to Meylani, overpreps but really helps, make sure you go over all questions and solutions
