Hi! i know you all probably read a dozen of these posts that sound the same, but i'm really worrying about this, so any advice would be great! i plan on majoring in american history or political science in college. Well, for the SAT IIs, I know that the UCs changed it so they only require 2. however, after talking to my counslor, he told me that I should take three, and that if i dont take math IIC, it may be frowned upon. he also said that as long as i'm taking the test, i might as well take the Math IIC. Well, i do HORRIBLE on the math; now, i'm good in math at school and stuff, but something about SAT math gets to me, and well, i do not do well on them, to say the least. i've even bought a book for the Math IIC, but i didn't know half the stuff, and i simply cannot learn all the formuals in a few weeks. however, i dont want my application to be "frowned upon" because i dont take Math IIC...but wouldnt it look worse if i get like, 700-800 on us history and lit, and get like, a 550 on the math? i dont know what to do! any advice would be great! should i take Math IIC, get a bad score but show colleges i at least took it, or not, and maybe do better in another subject?

If you are good at math in school (up to Pre-Calc), you should do fine on the IIC. There aren't nearly as many "tricks" as the SAT I, and it tests more of your actual math knowledge.

hello, I think you are fine with a US History and Lit SAT IIs. The req is 2, in different subject areas. Math IIC is only recommended if you plan to pursue a math/science or maybe even business.

Forget about the IIC and just concentrate on your strengths.

Thanks for all your input. I'm not in precalc yet, so thats why I really dont wanna take the MAth IIC.
