Okay I scored a 700 on my first official sat subject Test every single after I scored a 630 on the The official sat study guide and on Barron’s I scored a 630 which I been told it amounts to around a 730 . I have a week left and I really want that + 750. Any tips?
To quickly clarify: you scored a 700 on the test after scoring 630 on practice twice? (Also, I highly doubt that Barron’s scales to a 730 on the real test, even though the test is harder).
Examine the questions you got wrong on the test(s). Were they mostly because of simple mistakes, perhaps due to time pressure? Or did you have gaps in your knowledge of trig, algebra, etc.?
This should give you an idea of what to work on. If the former, my advice would be to keep taking tests and doing practice questions, under time pressure if necessary (I think khanacademy has some good practice questions). Focus on pacing and not making those errors. If the latter, grind out as many questions as you can in the areas you’re weak in. A week is not a long time to practice- so make sure you have enough time to devote to the testing. (If not, don’t worry- you’re a junior, so you should be able to retake later).
@hope469 No I scored the 700 first and it dropped , and other threads said Barrons went about that much
@hope469 Yeah, thanks for the help I’ll try practicing more I just want a 750+ if that’s possible and I’m sure it is because everybody else accomplished it
@AllisHopeful it certainly is- but do it for you, not because “everybody else accomplished it.” Best of luck next Saturday.
@hope469 thanks and an additional note I took algebra 2 online and skipped precalculus and I’m doing fine in AP calculus and I’m the first kid in my school that’s taking a subject test ( Legit I ask all my teachers and they said I am the first ).I’m guessing those gaps are beating me
Haha This is in the future but I bombed it first time around. The second time I made a 770 so Im sure if I can do it any of you can do it.
@AllisHopeful what helped you the most - Barron’s?
