In school I have about a 3.6 GPA unweighted, but all of my math scores have been 4.0s in advanced classes, and I will be taking AP Stat and BC Calc next year. If I get 4.0s there too (which I think I will, I always have like a 99 average in my regular class), will colleges look at this as well as my overall GPA since I am majoring in Mathematics and Finance? I would think this would be a big indicator as to how well I will do as these will be the types of classes (math) that I will be taking in college, not as much English or History classes. What will colleges care more about?

They may consider your math grades a bit more than your others, but ultimately they’re looking for students who are good at more than just one subject.

Since most colleges expect you to take courses outside of your major, they’ll still want to see good grades in your other subjects.

Really, they’ll look at your whole transcript, especially since most students change their majors from what they initially list as a possibility on their applications.
